(paper)Waiting
As Mr. Black has often pointed out, I am a 20 minute girl. Roughly I average to run around 20 minutes late to most appointments, I take at least 20 chews when eating (or drinking thick milkshakes), and my attention span has been known to wan around the 20 minute mark. Naturally, I've worked my way through a fairly impressive list of activities and hobbies through my life including piano lessons, scrapbooking, rock collecting, photography, basketweaving, and beading to name a few.
At the time of this blog I am approximately 12 minutes into my latest activity, glass working classes at the Pittsburgh Glass Center. The sample of four classes I've selected to introduce me to the world of glass working should fit nicely into my 20 minute rule. I've attended two classes, the first being the Hot Shop in which I made two delightfully colorful paperweights with much supervision! I absolutely love my paperweights! They are so smooth and clear. I picked the colors and made the inner swirls by twisting the hot glass. Then I poked air bubbles and finally created the round shape. Here are pictures. I'll add more from the next classes after I pick up my work.
